The NUS I-FIM and SKKU Joint Symposium 2026 will take place on Thursday, 3 September 2026, at the National University of Singapore.
The symposium will feature research presentations by researchers from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Peking University, Chungnam National University, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials (KIMM), Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science & Technology (DGIST), and NUS.
The programme will begin with an introductory greeting and presentation by Prof. Sir Kostya Novoselov, Director of I-FIM, followed by presentations covering a range of topics, including wafer-scale van der Waals technologies for 3D semiconductor integration, ultralow-k dielectrics, van der Waals materials, graphene, 2D semiconductor devices, quantum materials, and materials discovery using machine learning.
I-FIM researchers Prof. Oezyilmaz Barbaros, Asst. Prof. Ahmet Avsar, Asst. Prof. Maciej Koperski, PhD student Leonid Elesin, and Prof. Antonio H. Castro Neto will present their respective research.
I-FIM PhD student Leonid Elesin, under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Denis Bandurin, will present “Giant far-infrared photoconductivity from photon-driven collapse of a correlated gap in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene.”
The programme will conclude with an open discussion and networking session from 3:15 pm to 5:00 pm.
