Prof. Sir Konstantin S. Novoselov, Director of the Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM), National University of Singapore, has been appointed the first Honorary Fellow of the Italian Academy of Engineering and Technology (ITATEC).
The appointment was decided by ITATEC’s Presidential Council at its meeting on 1 September 2026.
According to ITATEC, the appointment recognises Prof. Novoselov’s work on graphene and two-dimensional materials, which the Academy stated has opened research directions and industrial prospects of relevance to the fields it brings together.
Founded in 2022, ITATEC is dedicated to the advancement of technology and applied sciences. The Academy promotes knowledge exchange among universities, research institutions and industry, provides assessments and recommendations to policymakers and society, promotes technical and scientific culture, and represents its community in international relations.
