Biography

Chen Musen completed his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2023 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Daria Andreeva-Baeumler and Prof. Konstantin Novoselov. Before that, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Innovation) from Dalian University of Technology in 2019. Musen has 7 years research experience on membrane science and technology and half year industry R&D experience on hard disk drive at Seagate Technology.

Currently, Musen is serving as the Technical Manager for the Analytical Lab, a core facility at I-FIM. In this role, he oversees operation, administration, training and maintenance pertaining to a wide range of state-of-the-art analytical tools such as FTIR, UV-VIS, spectrophotometer, HPLC, ICP-OES, potentiostats, drop shape analyzer etc. As key scientific personnel in analytical chemistry, he advises the researchers on designing their experiments to extract high precision results from these measurement platforms with maximum efficiency.
