Biography

Konstantin Sokolov is currently employed as a Research Engineer at I-FIM. He obtained his specialist master’s Degree in Engineering Chemistry from the D.I. Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology in 2015. Konstantin joined IFIM in 2023, bringing experience in experimental design and development of microwave dielectrics, as well as significant experience at JSC MCC EuroChem. He focused on the development, optimization, and implementation of industrial chemical technologies, including designing technological models and enhancing production processes.

At I-FIM, Konstantin manages platforms which can potentially be utilized for the synthesis of functional intelligent materials. Specifically, his responsibilities include designing the chemical recipes to develop these materials, with extensive focus on implementing automation and robotics for their synthesis and in-situ analysis. As the Technical Manager of the Furnace Lab, Konstantin manages the procurement, installation, and maintenance of critical laboratory equipment, such as PE-CVD systems, tube and muffle furnaces and other high-temperature synthesis platforms, ensuring proper calibration and efficient operation. He also provides technical support and training to researchers, enhancing their proficiency in using lab equipment safely and effectively. His role also involves drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments to maintain high standards of lab safety and regulatory compliance.
