Biography
Asst. Prof. Jeremy Koh is currently the Head of Advanced Material Solutions at ST Engineering. He oversees group-wide deployment of advanced material technologies and heads a team developing and producing tactical & platform-level products leveraging advanced materials. He further leads development strategies in Protection Materials, Tactical Wearables, and Energy Storage Systems. Prior to his current appointment, Jeremy was the Group Head of Intellectual Property, managing group-wide intellectual property and technology partnerships.
Jeremy is concurrently an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the National University of Singapore (NUS), at the College of Design & Engineering. In addition, Jeremy is also an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Functional Intelligent Materials. In these roles, he is responsible for seeding and co-leading industry-oriented collaborations (including post-graduate research programmes) with the department of Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) and has mentored numerous PhD students and undergraduates. His efforts were instrumental in forging a strong relationship between the industry and NUS, which included the setting up of the Advanced Materials & Additive Processing Engineering Centre (AMAPEC). The centre oversaw the development of various research projects with strong industrial relevance, with multi-million-dollar funding and contributions from the industry.
Jeremy is the current Chairperson of the NUS Alumni Material Science Society, helping to foster a strong, collaborative network within the MSE community. In this role, he serves as a liaison between alumni and the institution, advocating for the community’s interests and helping to ensure the continuation of its legacy.
Jeremy holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and a B.Eng. in Materials Science & Engineering from the National University of Singapore. His works include high performance ceramics, transparent materials, and Cold Gas Dynamic Spray (CGDS) for aerospace and land platform enhancements.
