Biography

Jayadeep, a.k.a Jay, is an industry veteran with three decades of commercial experience, having lived across UK, Singapore and India. He has played various roles for commercialising and scaling businesses, seeing multiple market and technology transitions over the years. This has included handling cutting edge offerings from leading brands such as Bell Labs, Cisco, Avaya as well as from start-up innovators. He has been involved in all phases, from the initial viability, launching the start-ups, raising funding, to scaling the firms to generate multi-million revenues.

In his role at I-FIM, Jay is responsible for commercialisation and business development, to bring real world value for the cutting edge research, engaging with PI’s, industry, investor and start-up ecosystems. He is actively involved to support IP creation, industry collaborations, launching and scaling of Spin outs.

He has a strong track record working with innovation ecosystems covering start-ups, corporates, universities, government, incubator/accelerators, and investors. Prior to taking up role at I-FIM, Jay ran a venture scaling advisory firm from Singapore. His work has covered variety of verticals from life sciences, chemicals, automobiles, FMCG, telecom, smart cities, banking, insurance, Enterprise IT, cyber to government and defense.

Jay has:

• Helped over sixty start-ups and university project teams, to help sharpen their value propositions, get funding ready and grow their ventures across in Asia,
• Helped Swiss VC-Incubator-accelerator to establish and scale from Singapore, coaching and advising founders across APAC,
• Consulted over twenty Fortune 500 firms in Europe, for their R&D and strategy departments to develop a deeper understanding of competitive landscapes and innovation opportunities,
• Joined founders of ground-breaking cyber firm in Asia to grow from scratch, to build initial traction for all their innovations, get funded and scale,
• Worked with founders of UK based telecom player to grow from a small outfit in London, to be a global consulting and solutions provider in mid-market space,
• Commercialised, and grown business for Tata-Lucent Technologies firm in India, involving cutting edge innovations from Bell Labs and local R&D, to achieve a dominating market position.

Outside of work, Jay has been active as a Cricket player and is also a certified Cricket Coach. He loves spending time coaching youth, mentoring founders, in social causes, experiencing cultures and cuisines. He lives with his wife, two daughters and cats in Singapore.
